A long time comin'

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport, 04:25 ICT

We landed at 04:25 ICT at BKK and proceeded languidly through the numerous travelators at the airport. Numerous in-betweens -- we stopped by to freshen up a bit, take photos, look at the numerous art pieces, shops and such along the way. Droopy eyes, languid movements all through until the check-in counter, I say!

The anticipation of the forthcoming action was just a couple of frames. "What the...," and the next thing, we knew we were running at 60fps!

I could proceed to the gate (I'd had my tickets booked separately) but the other two had to get a Visa-On-Arrival, go through Immigration, get a refund on their ticket and buy a new one -- all in 90 minutes 'cause of communication/card blunders. It was 06:35 hours and we were due to fly out at 07:40. Another 65 to go!

At that mo we decided I would proceed to Phnom Penh and meet them later that evening to fly to Siem Reap. All equipped to have a solitary day roaming around Phnom Penh, I waited at the gate. When realisation struck -- my Cambodian e-visa was with V. Anyway being the slack that I was, I decided to shell out 25 bucks (in USD!) more to buy another (Who knows if they'd issue another one!?). Or I probably just thought that I'd somehow needle my way out there if need be. Like I always do. Every country, every counter, has a story.

With about 30 minutes to go, a silent hope had me turning every 5 minutes to check if they were to be seen anywhere. No luck. Until I decided I would look one last time before I board. There they were, coming down the escalator! All smiles in the sweat-shop.

Well, fast-forward!
